Re: COVID-19 Positive Case
Dear Saskatoon Adult Soccer Players, Team Contacts, and Spectators,
This notice is to inform our Saskatoon Adult Soccer (SAS) membership that a case of COVID-19 has been diagnosed within our league.
Those in the affected mini-league have been notified separately via an additional email. If you did not receive a specific email your mini-league was not affected.
The participants of the affected mini-league have not participated in any soccer activities since the case was brought forward, and the mini-league has been cancelled for 14 days.
To protect the privacy of the individuals, we will not release any personal information, and ask that you respect the privacy of others. We have worked with Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) and the Business Response Team (BRT) to ensure all of the necessary measures are in place to protect all participants. This includes the Saskatoon Soccer Centre (SSC) taking extra cleaning precautions due to COVID-19. Also, upon hearing of the exposure, the SSC performed an even further and more extensive cleaning of the soccer centre.
Individuals who were in the Saskatoon Soccer Centre on Saturday, November 7 from 6:30pm - 9:30pm should self-monitor for 14 days. Please remember to inform any spectators that were at your game.
The risk of exposure to anyone not considered a close contact is low. For those who have been in close contact with the case, the SHA will contact you directly and provide direction. The definition of close contact can be found here: https://www.saskhealthauthority.ca/news/service-alerts-emergency-events/covid-19/general-info-health-providers/Documents/Facility%20Screening%20-%20Common%20Resources/COVID-19-Term-Definitions-Handout-85x11.pdf
We take this time to prompt all participants to monitor for any signs/symptoms of COVID-19, and remind you that our members are obligated to not attend events/games if they have symptoms, are feeling ill, or have been in contact with someone who is ill. Please refer to SHA’s COVID-19 Screening Tool located on our website: https://www.saskhealthauthority.ca/news/service-alerts-emergency-events/covid-19/general-info-health-providers/Documents/Facility%20Screening%20-%20Common%20Resources/GENERAL-Facility-HCW-Screening-Tool.pdf
If you or a close contact of yours have symptoms of COVID-19, please call Healthline 811, and remain home. If it is an emergency and requires immediate attention, please call 911.
For additional information on COVID-19, please contact Healthline 811 and/or visit the Saskatchewan’s Ministry of Health website at www.saskatchewan.ca/covid19.
